The Evolution of the Video Game System

I used to be an arcade nut. I spend most of my time at local video game hot spots playing the latest fighting, shooting and racing games. I’m also going to frequent the video game store at the mall with my friends. We’ll compete against each other in popular arcade games like Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat. Video games were a favorite pastime of teenagers in the early 90’s. I must have spent a lot of money on places on that video game machine.

What was the first gaming system?

It’s pretty much the same when I’m going to tell customers how much they’ve spent on video rentals so far. I always find this quite funny. The customer’s first reaction will usually be a wince; Then they’ll snicker at it all silly, but eventually most of them ticked home. I think some of them would like to have their money back. It’s just the way of people. What they don’t know won’t hurt them. Well, most of the time anyway. However, when it comes to arcade systems and video games, millions of people have long been hooked. The only significance today is that modern video game systems for the home have become more advanced and sophisticated.

The arcades are not as popular today as it was during my time.

Most of the kids today are investing in their own video game system. Systems such as Game Cube, Playstation 2, and Xbox are very popular. Why do kids go to local arcades and spend their money on video games, when they can only receive their own system during their birthday or at Christmas? Modern personal video games are not very expensive and most kids can have a portable version like the Gameboy Advance Sp. Advances in gaming make personal video games more fun and engaging.

Video games during my childhood and adolescence seemed prehistoric when compared to contemporary video game systems. The first system I had when I was in elementary school was Atari. Then on the road, the video game system evolved into Nintendo. These games are obsolete compared to modern systems, but they represent the evolution of video games into their current status. This evolution will only continue and you can expect even more exciting developments for the video game system. Hop online and find the latest games, models and accessories.
